No matter why individuals choose to drink it, there are many countries in the world that are famous for coffee production.

The top coffee cherries producing countries are Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, Indonesia, and Mexico. In addition, other coffee producing countries are Ethiopia and India.  The climate of these countries varies greatly but is generally warm with high humidity levels.

There are some areas that are famous for growing specific types of coffee or having more of a certain flavor. Many countries are popular for growing a variety of coffee beans such as Arabica or Robusta coffee beans.

Brazil

This is the top coffee producing country in the world and is where the most heavily caffeinated coffee comes from. Brazil produces about one-third of all coffee worldwide with approximately 3 billion bags per year.

Their climate allows them to grow many different varieties of coffee and the country’s location on the eastern side of South America also gives it a temperate climate. Brazil is full of rainforests, so it has lush vegetation which helps give the coffee a strong flavor.

Indonesia

This country is famous for producing Robusta beans which are darker and more bitter than Arabica beans. Indonesia is also home to the Chari Mountain coffee plantation which has specific conditions of soil acidity and climate that lead to a very complex flavor.

Colombia

It is also popular for producing more mild tasting coffee beans with its location in the mountains giving it a cooler climate than some other coffee growing countries. Colombia also produces more arabica beans than any other country.

Mexico

Mexico produces about 2 million bags of coffee each year which makes it the 26th largest producer in the world. Mexico’s climate allows for good growing conditions and it is known for producing high quality organic coffee.

Vietnam

Vietnamese coffee is also very famous. Vietnam is not only one of the top coffee producing countries, but also one of the cheapest coffee producers. Because it has a relatively low cost of labor. Vietnam uses approximately 1/3 the amount of land that Brazil uses to produce the same amount of coffee.

Ethiopia

Ethiopia is known for producing very high-quality flavored coffees with unique tastes. Ethiopia’s climate makes it one of the few countries in Africa capable of growing coffee but there are still very few coffee plantations. Ethiopian coffee is also very famous.

India

India also comes in famous coffee producing nations. This country is known for producing large amounts of coffee. But mainly does so for exports, not domestic consumption. Indian coffee is typically low quality which means it is usually sold to people in other countries who are looking for a cheap product. India has more arabica beans than any other country in the world.

How to Roast Your Coffee Beans at Home?

This is a question that many people who love coffee often ask themselves. There are many different ways to roast your own beans and we will go over one of the most popular methods in this article. To roast your own beans you will need:

Green coffee beans, a roasting pan, wire mesh colander, and a baking sheet. Make sure your roasting pan is very clean and free of debris so you can also use it to cool down your coffee.

Method

Place the wire mesh colander in the roasting pan and spread out the green beans over it making sure that none of them overlap and they are all in a single layer. Make sure that there is enough room in your oven for the roasting pan and baking sheet as you will need to place them both inside. Turn your oven up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and wait for about five minutes or until the oven reaches this temperature.

Place your wire mesh colander with green beans in the oven and leave it there for about ten minutes.  Take out your roasting pan and using your baking sheet as a ‘pusher’, push the colander and coffee beans around so that they become mildly agitated and begin to roast.

Leave them in there for another five minutes and then immediately take out the pan again and use the baking sheet. Then move everything into another single layer on your wire mesh colander or onto your baking sheet. Put the baking sheet with coffee beans back into the oven for another fifteen minutes.

Take them out again and give everything one more stir around before placing everything onto your wire mesh colander or baking sheet to cool down. When they are completely cool you are free to grind them up and enjoy fresh coffee prepared by yourself!

What Is the Best Coffee Brewing Method?

There are three major types of coffee brewing methods:

  • Drip
  • Filter
  • Espresso

Drip Coffee

You can make this coffee by dripping hot water over coffee grounds placed in a filter. This method produces a cup of coffee with many different flavor profiles depending on the beans used.

Filter Coffee

You can prepare this coffee by placing the ground coffee inside of a filter and adding hot water over it before placing it on top of a mug to let the liquid filter through. This method makes for a smooth cup of coffee with less sediment found in other types of coffee brewing methods. The flavor profile of this type of coffee typically has less body and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Espresso

You can make this coffee by forcing a small amount of near-boiling water through finely-ground coffee beans. This type of coffee is very strong in taste and flavor, resulting in a much stronger cup than other types. It also contains sediment from the leftover grounds which will settle at the bottom of your espresso cup.

Conclusion

There are several countries that grow coffee around the world. The most well-known ones are Brazil, Colombia, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Each country produces a different type of flavor depending on how well they roast their beans as well as the climate conditions in which it grows in.

Additionally, each method of brewing coffee results in a different flavor profile. This is why it’s very important to experiment with different brewing methods and roast your own beans. So, you can find the perfect cup for yourself!
